Networking Help!

Hi People,


I need help in setting up a network for my friend's office which would have a total of 12 Computers i.e. 8 PC's (Desktop) and 4 Laptop's. For best and optimum performance I have planned to get a Wired Network as Wireless would increase cost and also not reliable for a long time. I need to ensure File Sharing and Internet Sharing across all PC's. I have selected Airtel as ISP because of Good service in Delhi/NCR and reliable connectivity from personal experience. I need to select good and low cost components and also this is the first time I am making a network of more than 4 PC's so please guide me or suggest the ways by which I can set one up. What all would I need now to create a wired network?

That's way I decided for a Wired Network and the only thing that has kept me in Trouble is how to configure a switch to expand a network?
