New Camera

mav2000

Guide
Hi guys am looking for a new superzoom or point and shoot. The cameras that I have shortlisted are as below...let me know wwhat u guys think about them,.

Camera will be mainly used for product photography as well as general stuff like parties ets. Low light snaps also.

Panasonic TZ15
Cannon SX200IS
Both are similar in cost and the Pana has a 3 year warranty which is great considering the cannons 1 year.

Thanks in advance.

Correction, It is FZ35 from panasonic, a real VFM contender !

P.S. @ OP: Wat prices are you getting those for ?

both are around 15k. The fz35 is a bit bulky for my daily use and also a bit more expensive...what do u guys think.

fz35 is around 20k i think.

Still, i would recommend FZ35, if you can increase your budget. If not, than SX200is is a good option, but do rem that SX200IS cant zoom optically while recording a Video , while the panny TZ15 can !

That does not really matter. I think the cannon would be stronger performer out of these two?

EDIT looks liekt he tz15 gets kicked by the cannon on most specs...this cannon is actually comparable to the panasonics bigger brothers.

Another correction - its Canon and not cannon. :P firing guns, are we? :P

One thing you should know about the Canon SX200IS is that it does NOT let you use that mega zoom while recording videos. That was the deal breaker for me.

I made a similar thread some time back, and I was confused between a few cameras too.

What is your budget?

If you are looking for a megazoom point and shoot in a compact form factor, then take a look at the Panasonic TZ7.

After all the confusion and reviews and discussions, I went for the Panasonic FZ35. I am loving it.

I also fainted when unable to zoom while video recording by new Pannasonic LZ10.
Is this true such a great camera do not having feature of zoom while video shoot.?

My outright suggestion would be the Panny TZ15 BUT Canons handle low-light better and have a slight edge in the IQ Dept.

The SX200IS does put out a good fight. :)

Thanks man...ordered the 200is a few days ago...waiting for it to arrive. The specs look good and its a cannon, so it should be good.

My old s50 cannon 5 MP used to do as good a job in good light as my newer pana lz10. In some cases it was even better.

in low light also they were equal, but macro the cannon sucked.
