New Exide IT500 leaking

Hi just purchased a new IT500 as replacement for my old 9yr battery.
The new battery seems to be leaking from the inlet ports. The seller says that it happens during transport and is normal.
The sides with the stickers are wet and the bottom has droplets of watery like liquid.
Any advice on what to do?

Just use a damp cloth to wipe. Baking soda is not necessary.
Make sure the spilled acid doesnt come in contact with your skin, it will itch.

Always maintain the acid level in the battery by topping up with distilled water, to extend the battery life.

This is normal. Just wipe the acid off and fill the cells with the lower level with distill water and as you charge the acid and water will equalise

Thank you.
The cells are already full from factory so I didnt top them. Also wiped the battery with a damp rag multiple times and now its pretty clean.
