Currently your friend has '0' hardware and you want a gaming PC @12k :O

Assembling a barebones PC is a tough ask @12k let alone a gaming one!

Components Description Price (INR)
Processor AMD Sempron 140(2.7Ghz, 1 core) 1550
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-S2 2550
RAM 2GB 1333MHz Hynix/Dynet DDRII RAM 800
HDD 250GB Seagate 7200.12(2nd hand) 1000
GPU On Board HD2100 -
Monitor Dell E1609 4000
Cabinet Zebronics Kite with SMPS 1100
PSU/SMPS NA -
Key Board Zebronics OEM SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ KB 350
Mouse NA -
ODD Samsung 22X SATA DVD 900
Speakers Creative SBS SBS A35 - 2.0 400
Total 12650

Get a 2nd hand HDD which is still in warranty and if possible get a 2nd hand 18.5" LCD for ~3k-3.5k (Under warranty) so that costs reduce to less than 12. Also he will get a larger monitor :) 760G should be pretty decent for very old titles at very low settings.

If you want everything brand new then ask him to increase the budget by 1-2k. New 250GB HDD ~1.65k. If he has a 15k budget then he can also squeeze in a 18.5" monitor ~ 4.8k or a dual core AthlonII X2 250 ~ 2.7k

^^+1, if your friend is building pc just for gaming it will be better to buy a console like xbox 360 4gb which should come for around 13k which is near his budget also

Ask your friend to get an XBox 360. He can't have a gaming PC for 12K, even a second hand one.

I already told him to get a console, but he wants to go with the pc. Guess i just have to tell him to increase his budget or forget about pc gaming.

@Dark Angel thanx for the rig suggestions.
