Storage Solutions new hard disk

ST3250410AS is 16MB, but its hard to find and not worthy too.

320GB drives r not VFM, I will prefer investing 800 more and grabbing Seagate 7200.11 500GB @ 4.2k

SATA NCQ 500GB ST3500320AS for 4.2k. :)
 
seagate 7200.11 is a winner all the way.

add to that 5 yrs waranty

add to that proven reliability of seagate

wd doesn't stand a chance.only thing wd has better is rma experience.

Well....we have to look at the buffer size and data transfer rate too...

Seagate ST350032AS 7200.11 32 Mb buffer and Avg Transfe rate is 92.2 Mb/s

WD Caviar WD3200aaks 16 Mb buffer and avg transfer rate is 92.7 Mb/s

WD Caviar WD5000aaks 16 Mb buffer and avg transfer rate is 64.2 Mb/s



Seagate ST3250310AS 7200.10 8 Mb buffer and avg transfer rate is 89.9 Mb/s

even i was on the lookout for the 16mb model but all you''ll find is the 8mb model mentioned above..

Frankly, I don't mind getting some some extra gigs on a slower HDD instead of less space on a faster one

As, i can fill in the space for slower HDD by waiting for some more time, but No one can add few GB extra to a faster HDD:p

New WD 320GBAAKS is Single Platter, very fast. Seagate 7200.11 is also fast.

Above review is for old generation drives, both scoring near 65mbps.

I hope U got Single Platter 320GB, not the older revision.
