Finally after months of waiting (and many posts on TE) i got a basic laptop and handycam 
its for my mother's school use, so its absolute entry level stuff.
Laptop : Compaq Presario V3225AU
AMD Turion 2.0, 512mb ram, 80gb hdd, Gefore Go 6150, 8x dvd writer, 14.1" screen, Vista Home Basic. Looks are pretty decent, build quality is nice, and isn't that heavy. Got it with a carry case for 33.3k all inclusive.
Handycam : Sony DCR-DVD 608E
Again just the basic stuff. Mini DVD based, so just plug and play. 40x optical zoom, 1mp still shots, etc. Its pretty handy, but not the best looking handycam out there. Got it with a 512mb sony mem pro duo, and accessories for 22k. 1 year dealer warranty.
