Android New life to Old Phone ?

I have an old Samsung phone, this one https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i5800_galaxy_3-3395.php
Back in the day I flashed it with Cyanogen Mod (Android 4) and as that made it laggy. Due to lag and battery issues I kept it in storage and got myself a new device. Now I recently, got it's battery replacement from Aliexpress and reflashed it to it's stock Android Froyo (2.2). With this, it's back to functioning normally, as much as it could. There's no Google support for Android versions lower than 4. So no Gmail or YouTube or Maps working on it. Even can't get any app as no app store is working on it, be it Google or Samsung's. Since higher versions of Android make it pretty much useless, what are my options with it? It works fine for normal calling and if I can get apps to work, then would be able to do other tasks as well so don't want to just throw it away. Giveaway won't work as it's a 3G device with small screen so would be adding to troubles to anybody's "education".
