Graphic Cards newbie wants to know about gfxcards

I just got a computer and my friend are talking about new graphic cards and their performance and i kinda fell left out.

So can some one enlighten me about "THE STUFF".

Especially about new ones their price range and how to over clocking and what all to do for over clocking,how to check their performance what softwares you need, what kind of mobo ram etc combo u need .

I am from india MUMBAI so wish to know where can I get all the needed things.
