Newegg-Open box deal - Sapphire HD 4850 @ $134.99

open box = returned products.

Its ok for people living in states to get these products as if something is wrong with them, they can return it to newegg immediately. But there is no point in risking open box deals while importing through KMD unless its something small and cheap.

Also KMD mentioned sometime earlier that he will not take any sort of RMA responsibility for open box items like he does for regular products after taking shipping charges.

Its a bad idea to import open box items.

Definitely not. Reviewers get their prodcuts directly from the manufacturers.

Open Box items are ones which some consumer bought and returned because of whatever of reason, he was not satisfied with the same.

Wrong ! You misquoted him totally :P

KMD usually gives a non-DOA warranty with normal products. That is if something happens to the product , say damage in transit , or it arrives plain DOA to you...he will offer you a refund or exchange.This is not true for open-box products where he wont be able to give this non-DOA warranty as newegg has only a limited 15-day return warranty on this stuffs contrary to 1 yr on normal stuff :)

No. These are pieces returned to Newegg. Review pieces are usually sent by company PR/distri itself to the reviewer.

It might be a good deal for US folks, but definitely not for us. However I have a question now, if this one is found fault and returned within 15 days (assuming that this was bought by someone in US) ... does newegg gives a box packed new product in return, if not how does it work ?

Nope you will get a refund and they will take 15% as restocking fees

you are right and sorry for posting it in the wrong topic (did it, as it was related to Graphics card !!)
Mods please move to the HOT DEALS & DISCUSSIONS ... I hope this one can be closed as we are clear that ... the open box deals are waste !! (thanks people for sharing information about the same)
