Camera Nikon D50 SLR Camera Doubts

Hi Guys

My sis just got a Nikon D50 SLR Camera.

Wanted to ask a few doubts related to it.

1.> While clicking images i have to look into the viewfinder only
the preview images while clicking is normally also showed on the LCD
like in our camera phones or Dcams not showed on the LCD or the Monitor
of the LCD.

2.> Is there a Video recording mode in D50. [I wasnt able to find it]

This is the first time i have seen such a complex camera so i am unable
to assit here.

Currently am able to click pics in auto mode but rest of the operation
of the camera is still a mystery which is unsolved ;)
Help me guys.

1)Image preview should *definitely* be on the LCD. RTM! (read the manual!)

2) It's a true SLR, therefore, no movie mode. Outta luck there ;)

Nice camera, btw!

Well when she spent 700$ for the D50, she might as well have spent 200$ more and got a Rebel XT and flashed it to EOS 350D. Best camera under 1000$ IMHO.

@quad: There's no live preview on the SLR. You have to look through the viewfinder to take a shot. Of course, you can look at the image on the LCD AFTER you shot it.
That's just the way SLRs are constructed. The mirror blocks the path to the CCD and redirects it to the viewfinder. This is why you can't see what the CCD is looking at when taking a shot, like in conventional point-and-shoots.

Thanks a lot for ur input guys.

Its really sad to know that there aint video capturing on this cam.

But i thought that i cud preview the image in the LCD of the Dcam
before clicking the pic. I can see the pic after clicking it.
