PC Peripherals Noctua back plate melting

Imagehosts are banned at work. Whatever it is, you should inform Noctua. Seems like these backplates weren't meant to take such heat-loads considering European nations have a lot lesser ambient temperatures.

Send them the snaps and describe the problem as well. I recall you had flaking issues with the heatsink before. Include that as well.

Not sure what is it, look like notua cannot take the indian heat and the heat of 920 i7s

Yes, it is the same flaking heatsink..... send an email to them, thanks.

the noctua C$$$ say, it was subjected to hard environment, even the intel stock heat sink did not melt like this neither did arctic cooler, may be noctua is using substandard material, so one thing is of sure.... say away from noctua :-[:-[:-[:-[:-[

tell them that

& give them a link to this thread

It seems the insulation material between the back plate and motherboard has given up. Best to remove it, cause it might adhere permanently to the mother board PCB. Would be difficult to pry off.

By the way, how did you see this, since its hardly exposed. Clean up cycle..?

it is strange and worrisome, and the noctua support is crap as well, they are very rude and unwilling to acknowledge the problem, blaming me as if i held a blow torch over the back plate.... go to hell noctua. phas gaya 3500 waste ho gaye..... :(

Would it be possible for you to remove that heatsink and show from the other side of the heatsink? At times like this, I would post on international tech forums like xtreme systems or overclock.net.

Few days back when i was installing a new vx550 (DOA PSU to be exact) even I saw the melted rubber underneath my noctua nh-u12p se2's backplate... I think these days noctua is not producing good quality coolers... First I got a DOA vx550 from prime and after watching my noctuas backplate melting I m way too much frustrated now... I bought this noctua cooler from e-lounge aka theitwares... which I think is noctua's authorized dealer in India...

@panther - Forward me all the emails and pics to my sales id last time when u mailed me with the flaking pics i had got a positive reply from them but unfortunately my stock of NH-U12PSE2 was just over so wasn't able to do anything about it.

I was to get new stock of the same tomm but i am going out of town tomm and will be back next monday and will get the delivery after that after that i'll contact them and we'll work something out don't worry.

Guys,

Finally i have been given a replacement back plate however it happened because of Rahul's intervention, the noctua support was very ignorant and snobbish, jakob dellinger (Noctua CS) was not willing to believe even one word of mine, which is kind of strange when every company is trying to increase their market share and keep the customer happy. I had several RMA with companies like CM, logitech, nokia, etc, they were very courteous at least willing to listen as to what was the problem, it was not the case of, shut the f up... we are right as with noctua CS staff, till date i have filed seven RMA request with noctua, none of them as been replied, nor any action taken to solve the issue. Still then i guess rahul was kind and helpful enough to provide with a replacement back plate, finally the issue is over and it was big pain in my ass. noctua guys were saying even my mobo back plate was in bad condition, i keep on pressing it was due to flash, however they won't listen so posting few pic of the mobo back plate so that everyone can see this.

@Sorcerer post the pics which you requested.

I never had any intention to malign noctua's name or reputation, i just wrote in the forum i believe share with everyone on TE as to what was noctua CS doing to me, if they believe i was maligning their name, then should have pull their socks, it the first place.

thanks every one.

Thanks for the up Rahul. I shall have the ID added to the the thread - http://www.techenclave.com/pc-peripherals/find-your-peripherals-service-centre-details-168949.html

However it does appear that Noctua has to improve their customer service if this was the way they were to respond to their customers' grievances.
