noise comparisons for some fav digicams

:S check these two images
note the threads for canon s3 IS and canon a570 IS
according to this figure the cheaper 570 model has LESS NOISE
what do the experts here think about this ???
( i know less noise can also happen from aggressive processing in-camera
which also removes details along with noise BUT THESE TWO HAVE THE
SAME DIGIC III PROCESSOR)

so digic iii is doing more aggressive in-camera noise removal than digic ii ??
is that good or bad ??
That is obviously better. It means you can use a higher ISO value with lesser noise appearing.

The A570 can be compared with the S5IS which also uses the DIG!C 3 :)

not necessarily more aggressive, me no expert in this but i guess even other stuff like sensor etc in the 570IS could be newer and hence better photo quality

:)

Hi Guys,
S3is is a noise machines and poor performer in low light as you boost the iso. The best ever camera made for low light performance is the duo Fuji F31fd and fuji S6000/6500fd. iso100 - iso400 is flawless and a highly manageable iso800. i dont know many of our TE guys know this site or not.

Imaging Resource "Comparometer" â„¢ Digital Camera Image Comparison Page

just compare iso 800 shots of s3is with fuji s6000fd in full screen.
still if you got some doubt check fuji s6000fd against Nikon D40 @iso400 and @iso800

This is a iso 1600 shot taken by me . i am first timer in photography but it has captured the moment no flash has been used no PP just resized

comments welcome.

Fujifilm know a bit or two about low light processing.

Evening/Indoor shots on my teeny-weeny ultracompact Fijifilm Z5d come out better than the Canon S2/Sony H (my primary camera :( ) behemoths
