Nvidia launched its latest flagship card GeForce Titan recently, but its very expensive at US $1000. Now a cut down version of the GTX Titan is rumored to be in works.

The GTX Titan is powered by GK110 core and has 14 SMX units resulting in 2688 cores. The cut-down version is rumored to come with 13 SMX units enabled which will give 2496 cores ( still much more than 1536 cores of GTX 680 ).

The GTX Titan has 6GB GDDR5 memory with 384 bit interface. The cut down version will have 320 bit interface with 5 GB GDDR5.

Other details such as name and pricing are not yet known. But it is expected to bridge the gap between the GTX 680 and GTX Titan so should be priced between $700-$800. It is expected to be launched around July - August.
