Hi guys, I have a 3 years old Seagate 250gb sata drive, which is working completely fine on my old rig(MSI MB, running windows xp) now after formatting it when I run it on my new rig(Gigabyte 785GMT-USB3, running windows 7) it doesnt get detected, not even in the bios though it is running perfectly on my old rig.
Please help me out guys.
Thanks in advance.

Is your hdd configured to work in sata 150Mb/s mode ?. Because some older mobos can work only with 150 Mb/s hdds and accordingly your hdd might have been configured to work with your older mobo .

There is some jumper setting in the hdd to do this. Try setting it to work with 300 Mb/s mode...
