Dad: Thought of buying a phone; nothing noteworthy; seems a better version of iphone's coming???

Me: Yeah but not now; In India seems Airtel and Vodaphone'll be distributing it; but will be overpriced I'm sure;

Dad: Hmmm... And I was at the Battuta Mall yesterday evening and saw this very slim and leightweight laptop; was looking very cute in white!

Me: Oh.. The Asus EEE??? Hws it useful for u??? Its damn small.

Dad: What??? No it seems pretty ok for me. The price tag was around 6000Dh; Since I was with ur cousin, we negotiated and picked it in a hurry for 5500 Dh; seems like he knows the guys here;

Me: WTH!! 5500Dh?? :S What is it anyway??

Seems 1 UAE Dh ~ 12 INR so works out to roughly 66k which's a good buy; :)

He never told me he's planning for another laptop; His trusty old Compaq was itself an overkill!! :ashamed:

Fathers have this habit of buying expensive things on impulse. MY dad went to Kerala on business and then calls me up and asks how is the Cambridge Audio 640c amp !! I was stunned. It was just 4-5 months since we had bought a Norge. Luckily, he didnt go through with it!!
 
5500 dirhams is ~65k INR ....that's a whopper of buy man.....congrats.....and that too macbook AIR....in india it will touch 90k or somethin....so that's a clever buy...

Is that so?? In India it retails for around 80grand IIRC; :)

Anyhow the guy knows my cousin there since he gets most of his gadgetry frm the mall there; And its a relatively newer Apple Store in Dubai so might have been li'l more cheaper; :)
