Hi Mods,

Please note that I have signed up for a TE newsletter so I really do not appreciate receving information about FE. I am not interested in FE and dont think I have the time to spend there. I love TE but receiving information about FE will be considered as Spam.

We take all feedbacks seriously, this Newsletter was sent only as a one-time announcement.

For the lack of better words, we were only trying to communicate that TE has changed for good after the introduction of FE. And the news does effect folks on TE - many sections on TE were removed, so just saying that 'Announcement of FE' is not relevant at all to members of TE is taking it too far.

Anyways, as i said this is just a one time Newletter. And 'No' we don't like to Spam, not today - not ever.

friedclyde you always have the option to disable newsletters from being sent to you by choosing that option from usercp.

Since FE is a TE Extension site for non-tech talk, the integration will have to be there and will be there in future in many other areas also.
 
safin .......i signed up for TE i want the te newsletter not the fe one...and wat dipdude said definetly makes more sense

Well I guess you did not even read the mail you got before branding it as spam

its standard practice that if any site or company comes up with a new product, or there are any changes made to the site structure, there are sent a one time email notifying them about the same.
 
friedclyde, whatever change that has been done is reflected in your usercp options and the privacy policy. It makes perfect sense to us. As i said we do not have any mechanism as of now to separate the newsletters and if you do not wish to recieve them you can disable them. There is as of now no individual disable available although we might consider that in future.

Furthermore in this case it was clearly mentioned that this is a one time newsletter only.
 
alright maybe u should have had that in the start that it was a one time news letter i dont mean to be rude here..... it makes more sense that way.....i wonder how many people read things they are not interested about till the end......
 
D-uh..Clyde, you seem to have got a lot of free time on your hands today ;)

Though on a side note, 1 quick suggestion, can we change the From name field to TE admin or something more descriptive than just "admin"

When I saw a mail in my inbox that said just "admin" (Note the small case "a") For a moment, I thought it was some random spam and I would have probably just deleted it even without looking

well yes if we knew about fe from start we would have had that.

let me be clear, we are not going to flood you with mails. Its just for very important notices and we have no intention of sending you daily jokes. :) However since yu made this post saying you got spam, i was clarifying to you the changed policy.
 
About those daily jokes.....what happened to Eazy's newsletter? :D Now we also have Google and deepakkrishnan to help him out. :P
