Register for full dnd and report each sms or call that you receive, Vodafone promptly follows up on status and also at times block the telemarketers. Airtel is non responsive and does not take any action.

I use vodafone but what dnd nd all exactly mean?[DOUBLEPOST=1448094497][/DOUBLEPOST]
I keep getting emails from random girls to ask for fhsip but their email says something else like investment and jobs or courseware domain.
So I reply them if they would like to go on a date or best sleep with me. :DBang!! They never ever reply back.:p

I do not know from where they got my name and no. I'm guessing from the letsbuy DB leak or any other new one.

I get a call from 9136976228 (MTS) NCR no. This happened like twice, claiming to be a call from Credit card company which i have (I don't own any). Last time when that women called i asked her Credit card details and told her i will deposit 50K from my credit card. :P
She understood and hung up.

Dude our nos are purchased in bulk. Its some system. Our database is sold by our telecom provider himself as they get money. Thus as soon as you buy a new connection and once your nos. goes online...finish!! You are screwed then right from banking, marketing, insurance to all calls.

Same goes with email ids as well. Once you register with any site or even with genuine sites like naukri.com etc. you have exposed yourselves to the outer world to help sale your identity.

Just want to say, that I have been using a number on Airtel for a few years, that has only been given out to family and a few trusted friends. Till now, there has been no spam calls on it. Only a couple of wrong numbers who wanted to speak to a "Mr. Sharma."

mobile number used for online shopping can be easily abused (in general by middle men)
as the consignment parcel consists of the mobile number , name & the address !

Exactly. I too bought a separate no. just for few people like my very close friends and my own family.
But due to certain emergencies I used it occasionally on online sites for registration

Thus as said once you are online you got to face it all.
