Optimally using E51

I've recently got myself a Nokia E51. I've read enough about it being a superb business phone and hence the choice.

Since this is the first time I am going to be using a geeky phone, I need to find out the geeky things that one can do with the phone. I am a n00b when it comes to using the phone for anything other than voice calls!

I've activated advanced GPRS (Vodaphone) but am clueless about how to us the various connectivity options. I don't even know whether the browser that I have on the phone (titled Web with a globe icon) is a WAP browser or a regular browser!

Can someone help me with some practical information (no theory) on GPRS. How can one browse? check mails? use IM? etc.
 
Get the Vodafone Mobile Connect plan first. Or else get a wifi router at home if you want to share your net connection. The nokia web browser is fully featured, or you can try out opera Mini.

Go to email.nokia.com and get nokia messaging.

Then there are countless apps you can try out. Some that I use are coreplayer for videos, slick for chatting, handy blacklist for blocking pesky people, and pvr and cinemax apps for booking tickets.
 
Hey where can I find that PVR app. I bled my fingers trying to search for it online. I was hoping to download it or get it off the air via a sms request. Nothing seems to work.
 
When you use Slick - basically its via your GPRS connection right? So you'd be paying per kb (as per your plan)

Yep. I got the VMC 499 plan.

I think I put my phone no. on their site and got the link thru sms. I'm now looking for the adlabs app.
 
BTW - Since this phone allows you to browse the net - how does one protect himself from viruses?
