options for web hosting

I am starting a small blog about some of my hobbies, I already have a domain name but now i need a web hosting service.

what is the best/cheapest plan i can get? i don't need any fancy bells and whistles and doubt the blog will see heavy traffic, its more like a small project that i plan to do out of free time and curiosity.

my budget is below 1.5k ish, the lower the better.

blogger is free. you can use your own domain name for it too. you can use adwords or some advertising on it too if it gets passed by google's team. I had tried unsuccessfully in past to start a tech blog but gave up. got boring after some time. glad i didn't put money on hosting etc.

For sharedhosting: I am currently with vpshared.com . but I do notice a lot of downtimes.
For my VPS needs I am with buyvm (the people behind buyshared) . They are rock solid!

i went with godaddy managed wordpress option, came out to around 1.1K.
