Owners of TCL QLED TVs, can you please answer my queries?

Thought of buying TCL QLED TV in the ongoing Diwali sale, but after visiting the local Croma and Reliance Digital stores, I am left with mixed feelings. So, I thought it would be better to ask existing owners regarding the following -

Brightness : this is my biggest concern, tbh. In a side-by-side comparison with LG/Sony/Samsung, the display on TCL QLED looked dim/dull/washed out. I checked the brightness setting and it was on max! What is your experience? Are you satisfied with the brightness settings? Does increasing Gamma / any other setting result in improved brightness and colors??

'Old' model : One of the salesmen said C655 models are "old," i.e., launched in 2023. Given that 2024 will end in two months, this model will be two years old soon. Should I be concerned about it? Does it impact anything in the long term?

43-in vs 55-in : is the panel quality overall better in the 55-in model?

online vs offline purchase : which is better, in your opinion? also, from what I understood, model C61B is Amazon-only, while C655 is available in offline stores. Are they of the exact same specifications?

Use case : I will primarily use this for Gaming on PC, eventually on PS5 Pro. Can you share your gaming experience in terms of input lag, motion blur etc?

Please share your thoughts and comments. Thank you!

I think the top end models are the ones getting reviewed in the US but the ones we get are the low end models, only the TCL C755 in india which is equivalent to tcl c805/805k in Europe is the one worth buying.

What is your budget? and yes bigger panels do tend to be better but exceptions are there sometimes like in hisense where 65 and 75 had ips instead of VA panels I think.

My budget is 30k (± 3k) or so.
In Croma, I also checked LG 43UR7500 (my second choice after TCL), but even that seemed low in brightness, while the 55-in had a comparatively brighter picture. So, it seems all the display goodies are reserved only for the big-size panels, 65-in or more, while panels from 43-55 see a lot of corner cuts. Apparently, Sony Bravia 2 43-in is the only exception, but it's out of my budget. Funny thing is, brands are reluctant to specify exact brightness settings, only mentioning vague things like - High Brightness, Ultra Brightness etc on the specifications page!

55 inch Hisense u6k after card discount should be around that price.

Check at hifivision forum.

In general, TCL is an easy no in India as they bring poor quality products here unlike USA. IMO the biggest sale of the year was 1 month back, so you missed it.

Bigger screen size is indeed better. For something cheap, get Vu or Xiaomi or Hisense 55" 4K.

Hisense has 120Hz TVs, will be marketed as 240Hz. These will be easily better than other options for gaming. Surely above your budget, but is the cheapest 120Hz TV.
