How's this as a general purpose camcorder ?

It's available on eBay for 13690/-
JJ Mehta has it for 17990/-

I have no clue about video recorders.

Is it sensible to go in for these HDD camcorders ?
Or they are no longer main stream with HD ones already in the market ?

mini DV < DVD recorder < SD Recorder < HDD recorder ? Correct ?

How's the video quality on these SD and HDD recorders ?

Basically, is this a good deal or I should look for something else in the sub 15k bracket ?

i am also looking at the sony one at ebay ...still debating ...and between this panasonic and the sony , i would pay extra and go sony route
