The biggest problem would be brightness. TV is designed for longer viewing. Monitors are designed to viewed with you & the monitor on the same table.

So a TV will need to be (and, is) much brighter to give you the same experience that a monitor would in an albeit near-field.

TV would be too bright to be used as a monitor. If you turn down the brightness, you might as well buy a monitor.

IMO the only option where it TV would be better is when you intend to use it for movies/videos in the bedroom and game with a wireless set-up.
