Ahh, so i gave my Kingston 512 MB DDR1 333 MHz Ram to the main accel-frontline service center which is in andheri east some 1 month back, which is under warranty btw. Till one month there was no response from them on the ram status whether it was RMA'd or not. Then after following up on this issue to them, they told me that my ram has been physically damaged - huh ? When i gave the ram there was absolutely no physical damage on it, suddenly they conclude by saying that we cannot give you a replacement because there is physical damage on it

Calling up on their toll-free number turned out to be a nightmare, those call center suckers have absolutely no decency to talk to their customers.

Even the receipt dosent mention of any physical damage on the ram, maybe something must've happened during transit ? I have e-mailed them a number of times at techsupport_india@kingston.com - and its been 1 week and there has been no response from them. And i am not the only one facing this issue, when i went to my dealer he was like lots of people are being treated in the same manner, even thought the ram has not been physically damaged, they claim that the ram is physically damaged :S

And all this kind of bs only has to happen in india, i wonder what a us customer would've done to such companies. And this is still in existence

Very sad indeed that these threads keep coming up again and again, and the problem still persists, but companies still get away by following such shady practices :@

Die Kingston Die!!

yup.. accel-frontline handles both kingston nd seagate..

@rushabh.. why dont you try writing to the kingston global support guys or mebbe the kingston us support guys.. sorta go direct to the top

awww damm bad...personally i have rma'ed my kingston pen drive - 2 times...and both the times their service was excellent my pen drive was replaced in 5 days flat..!.....try giving a complaint in 'writing' and make sure to take an acknowledgement from them for the receipt of the complaint.

eh isnt ?? isnt Kingston RMA handled by the same peeps as seagate?

Yeah quite weird, i have rma'd my seagate drives 2-3 times and their service has been pretty good until this happened.

About Transcend - What use is a warranty when the performance is 1/4th of Buffalo and 1/2 of Kingston?

I seriously doubt the perfomance difference is anything remotely close to this.

You can check up the reviews on xbitlabs.com , the memory section.

Im too lazy to link/quote! Will do that from office tomorrow, if you guys want me to! :P

I hav a transcend jetflash V30 and A kingston Data Travelaer Mini.
writing speed in transcend one is about 2-3mbps where kingston gives steady 8-10 mbps !!!!

Thats a 400 % performance gap !!!:@

and even if u are talking about flash memories.. everyone knows that the JetFlashV30's are t0 be avoided like the plague....

they have faster models.. you just need to check before you make your purchase.. :P

Now memo do u think in ram kingston and transcend can be compared looking at there performance in flash drives?????

I know buffalo is better than transcend..but does they(buffalo) makes ram???

I guess here the talk is abt ram not flash drive...

ALso rushabh can u confirm this that same apply for all stuffs..i mean are they doing this only to ddr 1 stuff or did u heard the same for ddr 2 too???

@rushabht
i can image wat u've gone thru...the same happened to me 6 months ago at shiva collections at vashi. i was running around for 3 months. finally on suggestion of a friend, i bouht a zion ram. believe me have no issues since then..they give direct warranty...check out their website Zion RAM

well accel jus gave me some brilliant service :) :)

gave an old busted seagate hdd wid a burnt ic nd half torn sticker for RMA.. the guy at the counter dint ask nor did he take a look at the disc to ascertain the issue.. jus gave me a reciept stating tht my hdd had bad sectors.. :P :P

was given an ETA of 5 working days... gave drive on saturday.. recieved a 'certified repaired' drive on tuesday.. :)

now hows that for service..

for those wondering as to why am talking abt my seagate hdd in a thread abt kingston ram... Accel frontline is the company which handles warranty services for both kingston & seagate.. also, its at the same center in andheri...
