Hi,
I have an airbrush and thats about all I use for cleaning up the dust from my comp.

Can you guys please let me know what kind of equipment you use for cleaning your rig? I've a huge buildup of dust in many places and am thinking of taking apart everything and cleaning them (only issue is time to do this :().

Well taking apart everything is the best way. Use a soft cloth to clean the external stuff like monitor, case etc. Make sure to take out your dust filters from the case and clean out the dust too.

You can use a can of compressed air to help you clean the dust from hard to reach places and inside of the case etc.

Hmmm... are compressed air cans available anywhere in Chennai? Also how much do they cost?
Are these alone sufficient or is anything else needed for a real good cleaning? (am also thinking of reapplying thermal paste on the CPU etc.)

^^

You need to improvise in the case of PC's add a vacuum cleaner ( reverse *BLOW* mode )

Compressed air you can get from Hardware shops though no idea of pricing, I have never used them personally :ashamed:

If you can't get lint free cloth then the cloth for spectacles is a worthy switch :)

And if you don't get Ethyl alcohol, replace with daily stuff like Hard Alcohol ( Rum, Whiskey, Vodka... you get the flow * but for comps sake no BEER :bleh: )

Hmm.. I was wondering if we could use those normal vacuum cleaners on PC electronics?
Are these safe to use on the chips or is there a possibility of damaging them (ESD or otherwise)?
