Hi,

I have a Sapphire HD 6850 which requires two 6 PCI-e power connector. If any one of the power connector doesnt work, or the power connector socket in GOU doesnt work.. then the card works ? How well does it affect the gaming ?

Is there any tool available to check the power output coming from the connector to know if the current is coming ? Did anyone ever tried of using 1 connector instead of 2 ?

You cant use only 1 connector the card needs both , dont try to run with one connector only because the card will try to pull more power from the single connector and pcie damaging something probably frying your pcie slot.

Sapphire 6850 only needs one six pin connector , you can't even connect more than one as there is only one six pin power socket on the card .

If you card has two PEG connectors then both should be powered with a node. In load mode it would need power on both connectors.

^^

Not low. Will just not run, since it will not get enough power. Might get BSOD, game freezes, system instability.

It might run on desktop, low power 2d/3d with one connector but when it would require more power than 150 (75W from pcie slot + 75W from 6pin) then it would either slow down, crash etc.
I see you have cx400. is the 6pin connector actually broken on the gpu or you don't have a spare one since cx400 has only one 6 PEG. If its the latter just get hold of a 2 molex to 6pin convrter.

No, the 6 pin connector seems fine on GPU, and Sapphire ships with 2 molex to 6 pin convertor with graphic card. so, when i used both cables shipped with sapphire, the monitor didn't show any display, but when i insert my corsair 6 pin into the connector + 6 pin convertor, it ran fine. so, i assumed that a dedicated 6 pin connector directly from PSU is better than using convertor which might give a little boost to GPU.

There wasn't a single scratch on GPU during shipment, so card looks good. btw.. does Tesellation decreases frame rate to 50% drop ? when i play Crysis 2 on Very high/ extreme in 1366x768 resolution, the game runs in 50-60 fps ( with Vsync on).. but when i enable the Ultra settings, frame rates drop to 20-30 FPS.

Does nvidia card performs better at tesellation ?
