I bought a new Intel motherboard which is having PCI X16 and X1 ports so close due to this, I am not able to use my Graphics cards (PCI X16) and sound card (PCI X1) together. My Graphics card heat sink and fan assembly project downward alomost coming above PCI X1.

I want to connect my Asus Xonar Essence on PCI X1. I am looking for a connector cable (extension) for PCI X1 so that I can fit the sound card alone away from the graphics card. Is this kind of adapter available in India? Or anybody uses it?

let me know.

thank you guys for helping.

Which motherboard do you have, does it have a secondary PCIe x16.0 slot?

If yes then place the audio card there instead on the PCIe x1.0 slot. Cheers!

This looks very funtional. Thanks.

You are correct, your sound card won't fit in the PCI slot. You can fit the Xonar in the PCIx16 slot just like it fits in the x16 slot (try it) but where will you fit your graphics card? The extension suggested by cranky seems the only solution available. I had the same issue with my old board. Sucks!
Unfortunately it has only two extra PCI slots. My MB is Intel DB75EN .
Intel® Desktop Board DB75EN — Technical product specification

And I checked many Intel boards, most of them which is having single PCI X1 slot, is having this space issue.
By the way how can I place PCI X1 car dot X16 card?
