cant u see there is written core#0 in brackets beside clocks...its showingthe clock speed of the first core...right click and select core#1...ur second core

umm the chipset aint a prob..they have supp for as low as the ht`s and the c2d 65nms...

do one thing..hit ctrl alt del...go to performance ..see if there are 2 charts for cpu usage history

umm before i suggest a xp is screwed , go to ur bios and check if there exists any option to disable ur second core...saw one option like dat on a frnds intel 945gcnl...

hehe it aint listing a procc....isnt that a reason for concern....see acpi provides interfaces for hardware recognition, motherboard and device configuration and power management..its gives os the control ..the bios acts like its b**ch and helps os to do all the stuff...so i`ll advise u get a new installation of windows...

yea.. Checkout in Bios.. I had same problem before..

Make sure that, Single Core Mode is Disabled!

check ur BIOS again then :P most of them have an option to disable one of teh cores......

Else, just try resetting the BIOS to defaults..........may help......
