Looking for a cellphone with the best signal reception, not looking for any features, even a black and white handset would do as long as the signal reception is good

Problem is that the walls of my place are 18" thick on each side, and my room is on the inside, so thats 18" + 18" and i get absolutely no coverage inside my house, so if there is anything that helps boost signal coverage indoors, id be a happy man to get hold of that, lemme know if anything to suit my needs is available

Thanks

IMO, Better you keep your phone near by window/door. As more and more peopel suscribed for GSM/CDMA service, capacity of all Operators are down.

Here in Mumbai most of face CALL DROP problem (more with Vodafone either incoming or out going).

So may be in your case handset is not a problem but service is.

rave.. just take ur cell phone do a manual Network search and check which services are available at your place... if there are more than one.. get a friend who has that service at ur place and check the quality...

selection of proper service wud solve ur prob here

^ I wud advice not even to use a cellphone in such a setting.

better use it outdoors or use a landline. or get one with an external antenna which you can hook up like using a wire for better fm reception.

at low reception, cell phones use a lot of battery and radiate a lot of EM too.

can be harmful in the long term.

18 inch walls wont be a problem unless they have were constructed with re-inforced concrete, those iron cages used in the columns, creating a faraday cage that blocks out the cell phones. An ancestral home wont have those, as they are usually just made of bricks, mud & plaster. No cement is even used.

So if you have trouble receving a signal then your provider has low coverage (or oversubscribed) as usual. I'd change the provider rather than the phone (assuming it isn't faulty).
