Well Guys.. This one is based on another article posted here How about having ur buds confused, when they open Yahoo, google(or any "matter" site) opens.. and vice-versa.. ;) Go thru this one.. I thot of starting a new thread coz i thot the purpose of both tuts are altogether different..! Anyway.. 1.Search for the 'Hosts' file on your PC. On your XP system it may be at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc , ot in older Win 98 systems it'll be at c:\windows\ 2. Now open the file in notepad. 3. The working of your browser is as follows. Whever u type an URL on ur browser and hit enter, it first searches the local Hosts to resolve the URL to an IP address. If no entry is found for the corresponding URL/Domain it searches the DNS entry. 4. Now the IP Address of Yahoo is 66.94.234.13 and that of Google is 216.239.39.99. This can be found for any site using network-tools.com or by pinging. 5.Now create entries in the file Hosts file as below: 216.239.39.99 www.yahoo.com 216.239.39.99 yahoo.com 66.94.234.13 google.com 66.94.234.13 www.google.com Which means, yahoo URL maps to Google, and Google URL maps to Yahoo!.. Whnever ur friends try to open Yahoo, Google opens and vice-versa.. This can be done with any sets of sites u want.. Enjoi.. 8)
