I am planning to purchase a new system next week with the below config

Intel E5200 2.5GHZ - 3.2k
Gigabyte GA-G31-ES2L - 2.4k
Transcend 2*2GB 800MHZ - 2.4k
Seagate 7200.12 500GB SATAII - 3.0k
Zebronics Bijli + SMPS 450W - 2K
APC UPS - 2K
TOTAL - 15K

I would be using this system for Programming, Browsing and occassionally for Gaming and Movies

Please advice me a good combination of Monitor and Graphics card

Monitor : Samsung 2033SW/Samsung 2233SW/Dell S1909W/Dell E1909W/BenQ E2200HD

GPU : HD 4670 Or any other good GPU recommendation

Also if i go For 22" monitor and compatible Graphics card do i need to increase my SMPS power.

Do i need to get a cooling solution ?, i am not overclocker

Please suggest me the configuration based on above requirements

My buget is <= 30K

Thanks,

Samsung 2233sw is great.. is around 10.4k

GFX options HD4770/HD4670

u dont need cooling solutions if u wont overclock, stock fans will do

Could you elaborate, programming, like what?

I am a s/w Developer i would using this PC mostly for coding & browsing and ocassionally for Gaming/Movies also.

I am having a confusion in choosing right combination with Monitor-GPU-SMPS & UPS.

If i go for Samsung 22" do i need to have a powerful GPU, SMPS & UPS or ATI HD 4670 will do ?

Please advice me a Good budget configuration which meets my requirements

If you are the usual java/c# programmer or a web developer then you could go with E5200 or phenom 2 550 whichever you prefer and lot's of ram(>=4gb. especially if you use virtual machines. If using more than 3 vms and would need atleast 2 of them to be compute intensive, then better go with atleast a tricore processor Phenom 2 720BE.

If you are following the developments in the programming world, and would love get on to parallel development bandwagon then you should go with quad core processor, that's a must. I would have recommended Intel Core i7 as it provides 8 virtual cpus, but currently that's very costly. Then intel tbb for c++, concurrncy runtime for c++, TPL/ plinq for c# , java 7 fork join framework etc + java.util.concurrent for java would be possible, better comprehensible. You could check Erlang, Scala, Haskell, F# too, these languages either would be or would become basis for the future of programming. Yes, you might consider these essential for parallel development today, but believe they would in a very short period of time with the release of visual studio 2010, c++ 0X, java 7, F# being part of vs2010.

If you could give me better details on what languages(like java) and what frameworks(like spring, qt) you use, I might be of more help.

And programming is more important to you than other things you use your computer for, then resolution should become more important than size. Actually I would recommend you to go with a better resolution, smaller sized monitor.

I am a webdeveloper running Linux, Apache, Mysql, Perl/PHP. I don't think i need a high end processor like i7, so just settled for E5200.

I am almost settled with this config.

Intel E5200 2.5GHZ - 3.2k

Gigabyte GA-G31-ES2L - 2.4k

Transcend 2*2GB 800MHZ - 2.4k

Seagate 7200.12 500GB SATAII - 3.0k

Zebronics Bijli + SMPS 450W - 2K

APC UPS - 2K

Dell E1909W - 7.4K

Palit/Sapphire HD 4670 - 5K

TOTAL - Around 28K

any suggestions on this config

Also please suggest me an alternative configuration based on AMD phenom II x2 or something else in the same budget range

Y r u reposting? I think ur questions have been answered.

AMD config:

Phenom 2 X2 550 for 5.4k

Biostar 790GX for 4.5k

and all same components except, change that monitor to Samsung 2033.

Solid config. get it :)
And no, a Phenom II x2 based setup will exceed this rig's budget, and it isn't really required for your kind of usuage IMO.
