Graphic Cards Please suggest a new graphics card under 2.5k...

1. Budget is 2.5k....

2. Current rig Specs
CPU - P4
Motherboard - Gigabyte 945 series
RAM - 2 GB clocked at i guess 667MHz
Monitor - LG 17" CRT

3. My PSU is not a fancy one....but the one with came with the PC...

4. Primary use - (Casual gaming, Hardcore gaming, Just for display, Movies/HTPC)
To be more specific i like racing games like F1 2010..
not much in to role playing games like Mafia....

5. What resolution do you game on?
1280x768 will be sufficient

6. Interested in Crossfire/SLI?
I dont know what that is....

7. Open to both Nvidia/ATI?
Yes, i think so.....as a noob

there are not many options, you could go for the AMD Radeon 5450 or Nvidia 9400 GT/9500 GT. If you go for Nvidia get the ddr3 version even if the ddr2 version has more memory eg. Get 256 mb ddr3 instead of 512 mb ddr2. Check the dealers section/members market there are some nice deals there.

thanks a lot for ur reply....
but the 9400/9500 costs about 3.5k and the 5450 is around 4.5k......thats over my budget.....
i visited my local dealer and he suggested me an 8400 which is about 2.2k...it is 512MB.....what do think of it??????

and one more Q--- F1 2010 has a system requirement of C2D.... so does it mean that it will not work on my P4????
