Just bought a new battery for my mobile since my old battery was swollen and it was dead.

Wanted to know whether the problem is in my usage or something else :S

If you guyz have any tips about how to charge the battery, how to use it, etc.

I use to charge my battery usually at 1am and used to remove the charger at around 6am - but that doesnt mean overcharging because when the battery is fully charged, charging stops right ?

need some help friends :hap5:

after buying the battery today i havent charged it yet and it still has 4 levels of battery remaining - is it necessary to charge a new battery before start using it ?

Re: Tips for using MOBILE BATTERY

First time Li-ion battery or LIB charge the battery full till you got message "Battery Full". From next time onwards 1 hr. only. Most of time swollen battery cause of over heat/over charges. Never let the battery discharge FULLY.

Re: Tips for using MOBILE BATTERY

For a new battery it is necessary to make it discharge completely for a few cycles this will help to optimise the battery for future use.
Overcharging is never recommended.
Do not do that 1am to 6 am charging.
Instead try doing the charge when you wake up and get busy with your daily chores.
During that time your mobile use will be limited i guess :P

but i have heard that it is better to drain battery fully and then charge the battery when the phone is switched off

Re: Tips for using MOBILE BATTERY

^do the fully discharge thing atleast once a week.
What emperor said is correct for certain specific smartphones. Else those phone do not boot up from complete discharge.

Li-Ion not requires to fully discharge as (some where I read) it harm battery in long run. Li-polymer type battery good to discharge fully & re-charge fully to optimize it.
