Graphic Cards Pls suggest me a graphics card

HI friends , i am looking for a graphics card but seeing the variety of cards available , i am very confused with it . i dont have any technical knowledge about cards . nor do i use my PC for any special work . I am an average user .

Currently i am using NVIDIA 6600 series card :-

This card i am using since past three years but now wanna change to a new one .

Recently i bought a new mobo.

My current config is :-

MOBO ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS

P4 - 3.0 GHZ ( INTEL )

3GB RAM KINGSTON

80GB SEGATE HDD

SONY DVD WRITER

SAMSUNG DVD ROM

CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2ZS

NVIDIA XFX 6600 256MB DDR2 XXX EDITION

Recently i have changed my PSU to some ICOOL 450W SMPS (Rs.850)







My use of PC is limited to only movie watching and internet browsing .

I DON'T DO GAMING AT ALL .

One upgrade i can do in next few months is that i can add a 24" screen to it , right now its 17" benq .

Seeing my hardware components and my requirements , i request you people to suggest me a graphics card for which i don't need to change my PSU .

Price range :- 2000 - 2500 ( or if something nice in lower price can serve my purpose than its always welcome )

Your existing 6600 should be enough for HD movies as it supports PureVideo technology. or else get Sapphire/MSI HD4350 @ 2.5k..:)
 
yeh i have been haering some really good stuff about HD 4350 . is it really worth the money ??

I had searched a bit on ebay and found rates to be :-

1. 7200GS - 1350

2. 7600GS - 1600

3. 8400GS - 1850

4. 9400GT - 2350

5. HD4350 - 2400

I am really confused as in which card will solve my purpose ? and wont ask for too much power and all . What is the diff between 256MB and 512MB cards ? do i need a 512MB card ?

Which one is better cooling method ? Fan based or Passive cooling Heatsink based ?

Also in each of the above cards , which manufacture in india should we preffer in trems of performance and warranty and then price too ?

1. XFX ?

2. Palit ?

3. MSI ?

4. Sparkle ?

5. Sapphire ?

Why don't you first browse the Graphics card section. You'd get a lot of your queries answered.

For brands, just find out who is the distri for the brand in India and then search TE for that distri. If there are horror stories - avoid the brand. Make sure that you check the dates of such posts though. SOme of them may be old and the after sales may have improved after that.
 
if u do not want any gaming, then the existing card will also do for u!

suggestion -increase u'r harddisk ,80gb is nothing nowdays

I have a 1TB WD External HDD .
pls throw some light on graphics card

8400gs ?? 9400 gt ?? HD4350 ??
which one to buy ?
And which one will my PSU support ??
 
hmm thanks bro , dont know y am i getting inclined more towards 8400GS 512MB

its available for around 1700 . I am considering it 2b more VFM .

Whereas HD4350 is sumwhere around 2400

And in 2400 i m getting palit 512mb 9400GT .

Price comparison is making a confusion .

Am i wrong or right ?
