Point and shoot camera: some queries

I have Sony WX7 point and shoot camera. I have few queries and doubts which i want to clear:

1) I dont use the camera very often, so should i keep the camera and battery seperate so that the battery shouldnt drain?

2) While capturing near sea side, some water droplets fall on the camera lens. At that time i didnt notice but now they have dried and left a glaring spot(like some salt/mineral has deposited) on the lens. What should i do to clear it safely??
 
if they are zinc chloride or rechargeable batteries, then yes. keep them separately.

to remove the stain, use denatured alcohol and wipe with microfiber cloth. wipe it off using a continuous circular motion.
