I 'm currently looking for a portable movie watching device not sure whether a tablet or a Portable DVD player suffices my requirements

  • Great Battery Life
  • Good Screen Quality
  • Should all playback of all movie formats including mkv
  • Should support Wi-fi

I'm not sure what would come in that budget but dont want to exceed more than 15k

I think it would work for good amount of time. I am using such player since past 2 years. Just that it is of some other chinese brand.

May be check MP4Nation for the 4.3"/5" video players there.

Look for a used ipad 1.should more than suffice your needs.it's battery life is immense

That's a misconception.I've been using a Chinese portable DVD player for like 4 years.No problems whatsoever.And tell you what it isn't a one off case as my friend has got the same player(bought them together).
 
How good is the picture quality of Chinese players and Wifi Connectivity ?
 
dinjo, do keep a tab on our Market section for any deals on tablets from Android or the iPad. They fit your bill.
