Before anyone tries it I have not been able to confirm it
so please dont blame me if it doesnt work
I even dont know whether it has win 7 or not
(If any student is ready to try it i am willing to do a online transfer)

Well after reading this interesting thread
http://www.techenclave.com/hot-deals-and-discussions/windows-7-professional-19-w-free-144810.html
and buying half account for myself with the help of Srini
It led me into searching for same thing for our country and education institutions
while searching i came across this page
Microsoft India Students
screen shot attached
All those who are students can check for their institutions from the link and if members of MSDN AA program then contact the faculty and get their username and password and update the forum for availability of win 7

Now the second para is what interests me
If you become a member of CSI from this link
Registration | Computer Society of India
where student option is for just 200 INR
Individual Member account is available but its for 600 INR so loses its sheen as guys have shared keys for as low as 250 INR
Subscription fees link Subscription Fees | Computer Society of India
the lifetime membership is also not bad for lifetime orginal windows software and if windows keeps this arrangement with CSI
So for becoming a member any college name will do for an individual whose studying in that and he has to get Student Bonofide Certificate for Student Membership . I am sure we all will be having someone whose studying so :hap2:

once CSI membership is taken an online form has to be filled and username and password are emailed for logging into https://msdn70.e-academy.com/india

Now this is the link which pumps up my adrenaline
a. Log on to https://msdn70.e-academy.com/india to download keys

So if any student is able to confirm whether MSDN AA program for India also has win 7 or not will do us a favor

So people pls comment if you are able to find out something
I am also trying to contact my cousin to get that damn certificate .
edit 1 Win 7 pro not available as confirmed by iq6886 in Indian MSDN AA
Lets wait for the availability .....

my college is enrolled with them.I get in touch with my professors.

Hey if you chk the link for the software list, only windows 7 beta version is available.

One of the questions asked when filling the aforementioned form is, quote :
"What is the Computer Society of India (CSI) membership number of your institution?"

Will you come to know this once u'r a CSI member?
The form only seemed to ask this 1 question regarding CSI. Dint ask for your membership number, just the institute's.

well you should have a CSI number

and thats a mandatory requirement

apextwin146 is a CSI member he should able to answer that

@apextwin146 if you have filled the profile form pls update us also

I'm one of the members..

And I can confirm Win 7 RTM is not available... only beta is .. as of now..

And i know it says rtm is available.. but it is not..

I tried contacting the administrator .. waiting for a response...

ok pls keep us updated as all other MSDNAA have win 7 rtm plus the announcement over it

Indian administrators might be sleeping on it

Yes, that looks like the case.. that notification came some days after the 6th August win7 release to msdnaa members worldwide... But since then it has not been updated with win 7 rtm iso..

Lets see when it arives.. will let you all know...

I was previously a student of an institution which had MSDN AA. I am running Original XP downloaded from there..

I graduated 2 months back, till then Vista Business was available and also loads and loads of MS software including server licenses. But mind you they were all for academic purposes.

also check out http://www.dreamspark.com You get VS, Expression web and windows server 2003/8 for free if you are a student.

When Server 2008 R2 gets released (server counterpart of win7) you can download that too..

My friend is a CSI member, but he doesn't know the CSI membership number of his institution. Guys please help, how is he to find it out?
