I was going through the threads in new posts page and I noticed something which can get very irritating at times and is not a good practice to follow.
Lots of threads have very vague topics which do not give you any idea about the content of the first post.
Following are just some examples on the front page of find-new-posts. Do understand that we have nothing against the posters and they need not feel embarrased or humiliated.. even I have been posting such vague topics in the past. :ashamed:
It is requested that you all follow some guidelines and keep a few things in mind before creating threads so as to make the indexing better for members and search engines too. Also make the sections look better.

Original topic name was: sempron s939
We cannot make out what the thread is all about except that it would have something to do with sempron s939. But what?
Original topic name was: bypassing company firewall
Again what is the topic about.. is it a tutorial, is it asking for a tutorial, is it providing info on some software which can bypass, or is it asking for consequences of doing that. Very vague. Since it was a question it should start with a question tag (why-where-what-when) and end in a question mark.
Original topic name was: internet on mobile
As vague as it can get. What can a person make out of the phrase 'internet on mobile'. What is the first post all about. However "how to access internet on GPRS mobile" with a question mark is very much clear.
Original topic name was: Pny 7600gt
Well what would you say to a person who comes to you and says, "PNY 7600GT". Well what about it, what exactly are you looking for. Since the thread was on buying advice it should have read 'buying advice' or 'WTB' or the present format. That makes more sense to the reader what the topic contains.

- Keep the thread topic as descriptive as possible in as few words as possible. Topic should provide the reader with the gist of the contents.
- Use questions tag while asking a question.
- Always make sure that the first word of the topic is a capital letter.
- Please use the following prefixes in titles if they apply:
- HOW TO: If thread is a guide to do something
- HLP:If in case help is needed
- WTB: If you want to buy something (Applies to market section)
- FS: If you want to sell something (Applies to market section)
- BuyingHelp: Advice needed for a buying decision (Where to buy, what price...)
