power option in WIN 7?

i haven't used vista at all!
but i know that these options -
-power saver
-balanced
-high performance
are pretty helpful in notebooks.:)
so i am using WIN 7 x64 ultimate on my desktop and i want to know whether these options are worth useful ?

i haven't experienced any performance change in all three options.

Yeah they are useful sometimes when you need to get the max juice out of your UPS when there is a power cut.

I normally keep it at high Performance on my desktop. But on my laptop i keep changing it between the 3 options as it helps a lot.
 
U can set the power options on a desktop in a way u want it to be. U can set the time for shutting off a extra HDD or the monitor.
The main difference between these is power saving through a decrease in performance. U can set the processor to reach max 50% in power saving mode, so u will save a lot of power if you run in 24x7. Set the high performance mode to have minimum and maximum processor speed as 100%, so u can have full power when playing games.

Dats what the difference is and it is quite a difference if you use the PC for a longer time. Else, you need not use this et all. :cool2:
