Can anything be done about it ??
I see some members spend a lifetime just welcoming new members.
although this is good as it makes new members feel welcome but cant something be done so that these replies are not displayed in the newposts page.
all those members who want to compare the effctiveness of their welcome post , relatively or subjectively, can visit the "introduction lounge section" and do so.

It really is becoming extremely difficult to find genuine tech related posts ..

edit: mods kindly add your "P" in the thread title. make it "Preventing" instead of "reventing"
thanks.....

lol i was wondering what this reventing word was.. gonna look at dictionary

Anyway if i remove it from the new posts search then people will complain that they can't see their welcome threads and more importantly most people will miss that section

maybe a profile field can be done to omit that sections post? what say?

make it so that ....
Only the first introductory post from the new member can be seen in the newpost search...that way all members can see who has joined recently.
subsequent replies from our esteemed members need not be shown there and needlessly fill whole page(s) whenever the existing members make a newposts search ...
This, i assure you, will restore the blood pressure, pulse rate and sanity of many reputed members .....:ohyeah:

No nikhil, thats not what he wants :P The first post should be seen, but not the replies. And for the jokes section as well. If it can be implemented, it'll be just awesome :hap2:

@ quickfire,
Good show captain. applied the last url shown there and now i feel it is a completely different TE ....:cool2:
pages load fast, its like TE has suddenly got spring in its feet ...

ps: kindly amend the title of this thread as requested earlier .......Thanks.

Just incase anyone needs it, the forum ID for Intro Lounge is 3

There are a few forums I do not want to show up when I click on New Posts button - where can I see a complete list of these IDs ?

@ Quickfire,
No that is not exactly what we wanted. because if we click on "newposts" again (while we are online on the forums) the disabled / non-interesting sections come back ....is it possible to customise the "newposts" button itself (i meant the url options it points to) for the members ??

k edited the thread title now...

will post here when the option is added to the usercp
