Hello Admins

I know that u guys are really busy but i wud really like to bring this to
your notice that the price list is hardly updated.

Some idea shud be brought up to update the rates daily and add new products

So the list remains up to date.

why dont u give a few trusted members the authority to update the hardware list with latest prices or let the mods do the needful.

Hope that i aint askin too much , but i feel that such an important aspect like
price list shud always be upto date.
 
^ Quad we are fully aware of the importance of the Price Guide section.

We did want to implement an interim arrangement till we decide on how to go about the Price Guide section vis a vis ease of updating, access and presentation.

We have just finished with iTrader & as always we have certain things on hand.

Price guide would take some time. Maybe we can implement the interim solution asap. And trust me, we would call on the community if some help is required.

Btw - at the moment the Price Guide section is closed to updation. So any rates you do see have been updated a few months back.
 
i agree with quad ..... u guys can take help from community members for updating and stuff .....
 
For now, would you guys maintain a thread.

Just keep on adding replies to the thread with the latest prices and the first post can be updated.

This way hopefully it will be easier for the mods to update the first post and you can anyway differentiate different categories via headings.

The price guide needs massive fixing and easier way for mods to handle that. It would take time. For now try doing this.
 
^^ hmmm ...... thats a good idea ...... but where to start the thread ..... better if u start it and make it a sticky :)

We did think of an member only wiki but due to some security concerns we had to back out ;) But lets see - i am a big fan of Wiki's personally :)
 
Umm...A wiki is basically a web page that can be edited by everyone. But to prevent vandalism/abuse, editing access should only be given to registered members, or reputed members, or some hand-picked members etc... whatever the mods prefer.

Just like how wikipedia , but this wud be restricted to TE members.
 
Sorry we had thought of that but right now its not possible. There was a security problem with such an implementation. For now try a thread approach.
 
hey can u let me know wats the security problem, we use wiki in our office we have our own internal wiki for knowledge sharing
 
wiki will be using sessions from vbulletin for handling integration and maintaining TE userbase control. There are known exploits based on integration. Infact we have had some before.

Wiki is no go right now. Try thread approach. Its the best as i said and best for SEO also.
 
thread..idea is really really good..i dnt know much about Wiki...maybe it's better..i always thought tht we need a updated price list..and once even created a MASTER HARDWARE PRICE LIST THREAD..which unfortunately couldnt update due to lack of time and price sources...but it would be nice if we have a single thread for price lists...

and some appointed members from each city..(i would love 2. ) or ..if not a problem ..any member. can update the threads with some pattern like.

HARDWARE

CITY.

SOURCE

PRICE etc etc.

and i think. updating. the prices once a week is also .good..enough..

so let's see..what happens..
