Monitors Price of 17 or 19 inch monitor

I will build a new rig and plan on buying either the ATI 4850 or Zotac 9800GT AMP edition.

If I buy a LCD monitor, the native resolution of the monitor will limit the visual appeal of demanding games like Crysis(Since the mentioned Graphics cards do not give too large an FPS value at high resolutions like those commonly found on 19inch LCD monitors).
So, I plan on buying a CRT monitor instead as i will be able to play in any resolution I want without having to fear about the picture taking up less screen estate because of lower resolution than the native resolution of the LCD.
So plz tell me the price of a 17inch or a 19inch CRT monitor.
Plz note: I support the Green Movement and do everything I can to save power. But the lure of playing Crysis with all visual effects enabled and playable frame rates is just too much to resist ;-)
I presently own a 4 year old Samsung 15inch monitor.

Get a 19incher LCD.

The standard res of 1440x900 would be easily handled by either of the gfx cards you're abt to invest. [Get the HD4850 btw :p].

22incher Viewsonic LCD retails for as low as 9k odd. :)

Hence get the LCD. :D

Ihave the XFX Geforce 2 card and 19 inch viewsonic LCD and play CS 1.6 at 1440 x 900 with a healthy FPS of 72... whereas playing the same at 1024 x 768 gives me a slideshow FPS of about 15..

So AFAIK.. 1440 x 900 is less taxing than playing at 1024 x 768..

What my friend techie is trying to say here is..

Multiply 1024 and 768. Compare that with what you get when you multiply 1440 and 900. whichever is higher is gonna take more out of your graphics card.

Crysis and Counter Strike are many generations apart and their visual effects cant be compared.
Maybe u are changing some setting unintentionally because of which u are getting such low FPS for 1024x768.

I wanted to buy a CRT since LCD costs a bit more and with that saved money, I could have had gone for a better processor.
