Problem installing MSI installer files....

Hi guys,

I am trying to install MSDN 2005 from iso files(backed up data) but I am facing a very weird issue.

I give it all the requires instruction (install path, choice of what to install). After clicking install the window just disappears and doesnt show anything further. I can see the DVD drive spinning up and then the thing just stops any futher signs in 1 min.

I went to event viewer and it showed a messaged that the MSI installer had failed. Please enlighten me :P

I too have a problem with installing new software. Turned out my windows installer service wasn't running. After I manually started it, I could install.
