A friend of my has this configuration and its giving him some problems

here is the complete config

MSI RS480
A64 3000 (winchester)
Twinmos 512 x 2
TV tuner also installed i think
1 x 160 GB SATA
1 x 40 GB PATA
DVD RW
Zebronics 450W PSU

Ever since i installed this card on this system its giving this strange problem, whenever i start a game, it plays for about 5 mins an the system freezes, the background sound of the game keeps continuing though but the system just locks up, and have to restart the pc, i initially thought its a PSU Issue and he got a new zebronics 450 W psu, i did a complete format and reinstall of windows xp on his pc but still it gives the same problem

In bios, keeping the gfx card clock in sync and stting it manually also dosent help, agp aperture size i changed to 128 and 256 with no help either...

AMD C & Q is disabled as well and needless to say the cpu is at stock speed, so is the gfx card..

i ran the card on my system for 2 weeks and worked without a hitch...

any help or suggestions in this matter wud be really helpfull..

cud be the ATI onboard chipset is conflicting with the NV card?? oh yeah the display priority is set to PCI e only....

I remember reading something that the older RS480 had some problems but these were fixed by a bios update. Perhaps that would help.

ok will try a bios update as well
