Problem with Sub-Domain and Main Domain - Help Needed

Hello Friends,

I have got a site Mrintech - Your Computers and Technology Guide and today only I created another sub-domain Mrinmay Bhattacharjee Weblog

While Creating Subdomain I chose /home/mrintech/public_html/personal as the path for hosting all the files (wordpress) of this Sub-Domain

Now my Main site is located in /home/mrintech/public_html and whenever someone tries to open http://mrintech.com/personal (mrintech (dot) com / personal), it's giving out 404 Not Found Error :(

I can understand why this is happening (due to presence of Personal Folder in
/home/mrintech/public_html), but I am not getting How to separate the Sub-Domain Folder from Main Directory???

I tried redirecting http://mrintech.com/personal to Mrinmay Bhattacharjee Weblog using cPanel 11, but it gave an error saying this will result in a loop and you can't redirect in such a way :(

Kindly Help Me as Google Webmasters Tools will start bugging me with some error after some days

P.S: This post is not meant for advertising/promotion at all

:D Its a very simple error. You have to be looking for your blog at: personal (dot)mrintech(dot)com

When you type it the other way, the browser looks for a page called personal in your main site.

EDIT: I just noticed that you already know about this. (Happens when you wake up and login to TE directly. :P )
Regarding the error in redirection, I have also experienced the same previously, but found no real solution. The only way is to just publicize the blog's address as it is, or buy a new domain name and redirect it to your blog.

The error page is because of wordpress inbuilt re-write rule. Google will not bug you for this 404 not found error page. This is common when you create a sub-domain and use wordpress.

That's so true! :P

@Mrinmay,

You created a subdomain right? I mean you have personal.mrintech.com, right? Then in that case your URL also should be Mrinmay Bhattacharjee Weblog and NOT www.mrintech.com/personal. The latter one indicates just a folder and NOT a sub-domain. Though your sub-domain uses that path it's actual address is 'personal.mrintech.com'. I think you are confusing the 'actual path' and the path 'given by you'. :)

And when you want your users to redirct from your main site to your blog, just use the URL: Mrinmay Bhattacharjee Weblog and it will be done. I don't think there is any error or sorto like that in this case :)

Thanks all For Reply :)

If Google Webmaster tools don't show error than it's well and Google :)

Dude I very well know the URL of mine Sub-Domain :P. I am just asking how to eliminate 404 error from mrintech(dot)com/personal ? As Personal Folder is in Main Home Directory. :)
