I am looking to purchase Dell XPS 1530. But i read some posts on internet about said laptop regarding few problems

1.Speakers sound is low.
2.Touchpad is not good.
3.Heating problems.etc

Guys using said laptop please shed some light on above problems if they r true...Suggest me laptop that is on par with dell xps 1530..

1. Probably true if you got it from a reliable source
2. I noticed this on the new Dell notebooks since the 1525
3. Only the M1330's with discrete graphics overheat, M1530's have decent cooling

the 1530 is good.

The 1330 had heat issues, everyopne knows, even my frnds in dell recommend avoiding it :P

The 1530 has no such issues, cos even my dell frnds are buying these :bleh: instead of the 1330s.

if 1330 has this problem!

then what are the better options for smaller size laptop. I was interested in 1330 but I hate overheating laptop( they burn your Lap!)

So plz suggest any other smaller laptop

for smaller size? so long as gaming is not a priority, get a 1330 with integrated graphics. the only ones with problems are the ones with a separate graphics card.

n do keep in mind that any 13"/12" will heat up duo to compact design, of course, these 1330s with extra graphics cards heated up a bit more :bleh:

ur ok getting one with integrated graphics so long as u dont plan to game on it :D

Even Acer/HP-txseries are some other options but these dont come with separate graphics cards either (at least i dont think so :ashamed:)

Thanks for suggestion

Yes I dont do games at all!!

So I think 1330 is again on my shoping list!! Thanks again!

I just checked the sony sz seires ( on website) I surely look nice but it costs almost 2 times that of Del for the same specs

Is it worth it?

Don't go with website prices, contact dealers and play them against each other... it will work out more expensive because there are no employee referrals like Dell, but they're worth it. After my experience with the M1330, I would never buy another high end Dell notebook.

Thanks so much for the advice!

I have used dell laptop while in US and always thought that it is not at par with something sony( my personal opinion)

But reading posts here on Forum I started thinking that DELL is good as lot of good is written about it One reason may be due to enthsiast like the option to configure in DELL

I am going to US in coming month so will try to Buy online while I am there

thanks

Dell is good, I've owned and used many of their notebooks over the years but the M1330 was the first high end Dell I'd bought, and unfortunately, had a bad experience. I'm not implying that all Dell high end notebooks are crappy, I'd rather not take chances when spending over 60k on a notebook...

Next time, you could just google up the model you're interested in buying and see if there's any issues with the model or not.. There'll be several feedback lying all over the net and this actually can make or break a buying decision :P. Unfortunately, there are not too many buying choices(/alternative) in India :(

You think I would not have done that? There were no reported issues when I bought it, problems started to surface in Jan this year after I got mine. In fact, even then nobody thought it was widespread... only a couple months ago that was established by *users*, not Dell.

I've already decided not to buy new models, Dell or any other brand, especially when spending over 40k.

Guys stop talking about XPS 1330 but post about experiences of XPS 1530...

Should I go with dell xps 1530 or with sony vaio???

I being confused which high end product should I buy??

I am read to invest such high amount but skeptical if amount invested goes in vain...(Product value for money)
