I am planning to upgrade my system. This is the config I have in my mind.

Intel Core i5 3550
Asus P8B75-M LX
2 * Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz (Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9) | Ram | Flipkart.com)

The cost comes around 20k. I wanted to know if there would be any compatibility issues between them.
Also, the ram specs say 1660mhz(test) and 1333mhz(specified). So, will I be getting 1600mhz on this board?
Also, please suggest improvements if any, without increasing the budget
The primary use of the system would be for video editing and adobe aftereffects projects. I won't be doing any overclocking.

@jmv1993204 Go with this combo-
Intel i5 3550-12.5k
Gigabyte B75M D3H-4.5k
Gskill RipjawsX 2X4GB 1600mhz-3.4k
You'll get 1600mhz support on this mobo,Also you'll need a GPU if you're doing video editing and partical effects,Hope this helps.:)

Thanks for the reply :)
I have decided to change to gskill ram
But regarding mobo, is gigabyte that superior over asus p8b75 ? And, is it not possible to get 1600mhz on asus? I had enquired about gigabyte in the local shop. They say gigabyte boards are not easily available here. So i'll have to buy online. Even then, service would be a problem. I haven't heard of any gigabyte service centres in my area.

And, is it not possible to get 1600mhz on asus?

Upto 1333 MHz on Sandy Bridge (32 nm) and 1600 on Ivy Bridge (22 nm) is same for most of the B75 (and even H77) motherboards. You can get 1600 MHZ with Ivy Bridge (22 nm) processors, which is i5 3xxx processors (i3 3xxx and i7 3xxx are also included, among others) with Asus P8B75-M too.

Sorry to highjack the thread, I have a similar query, can the following setup work :

Intel Pentium Processor G630
G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) PC RAM (F3-12800CL9D-

8GBXL)
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Motherboard

I will upgrade the proccy to ivy bridge quad core like i5 3550 later if I feel the need.
