Hello!

i hope am posting this in the correct thread.

just today i came to know that our car has been emptied of all the petrol it had (full-tank). this happened some day within the last week. the car's parked in the basement of our building, which is manned by just one security-guard (ho-hum!), and it is a large, dark place.

i wanted to know whether is there any device which can prevent such thefts, like any lock/wire-cover, etc., that can be put over the fuel-tank door? although the door opens with a button inside the car, as is usual in cars today, hence i don't see much chances of fitting of any kind of lock on the tank-door; but still, any kind of suggestions would be welcome.

thanks!

UPDATE: Total turn-around! after refusing to come at first, a person from the automobiles store where maintenance of the car is undertaken, showed up a while ago. he said that mice have chewn off some wires. the earlier person who was called (a battery-store guy, who was called in suspecting that the battery was at fault) had said that the battery is fine, and headed to check the fuel-tank with a pipe, and then declared that the tank is empty, indicating that there has been fuel-theft. after he left, 2L. of petrol was bought, and when it was being put in the tank, the tank started overflowing, meaning that there hadn't been any theft, and the tank was full with fuel!

makes for a nice Sunday-satire! sorry to bother you all.

mod, you may please close this thread.

^ Good to know that the car is not in a threat of getting stolen. Petrol would have been just the start mate.
Anyways get those wires fixed and get back into enjoying the drive again.
