PS2-Entertainment HUB...HOW TO DO?

Bros, no offence, no piracy , but need suggestions if possibly in layman’s language … I want to make a entertainment hub with my ps2, details are as given below,

HardWare
PS2-750001 series
HDD casing (transcend)
HDD – WD 80 gb
Need
It should play games,
Movies in divx format if more then its good.
I have tried CD launch PS2 and watch DIVX movies from USB drive, tried BOOTING hdd from elf launcher and played a game but then
Cannot boot HDD directly , for saving game need memory card. And that is not working (already spoiled 3 of them)

Please any guide , I tried google them and many links no simple language…

thanks buddy but i can not see the thread...can you please explain how exactly that ps2 is modded for this and no investment at this moment

bros, got it ...some googling and using macboot to boot the system from hdd and using sms player for movie viewing and open ps2 loader for loading games, no need for any cd boot anymore...what u say
