Forum Feedback Purchase Recommendations section needed

as the title says,

it would be nice to have a seperate section for the purchase recommendations asked by members. :hap2:

Well the reason we had that section removed was:

a) Lot of discussion was being driven away from the main hardware sections like CPU/Mobo Corner, General Hardware, etc. The only content left in those sections were News articles about xyz hardware releasing on abc date.

b) Newbies would still post threads asking for purchase recommendations in the relevant hardware sections - like requests for procs in the cpu/mobo section, optical drives in the general hardware section, etc. Since Newbies themselves were quite comfortable with that pattern we realised it made more sense that way.

Troubleshooting section was also removed for the same reason. IMO most tech posts are effectively divided into 3 categories - News, Purchase recommendations, Troubleshooting. By making sections for each of them, we would effectively kill the relevant hardware categories

ok,i understand that...but how about creating sub-forums under the respective hardware sections so that all those can be in one place.

A lot of thought and discussions went on before this decision was taken.

I guess Eddy here has summarized it perfectly.

However, you could wait for a reply from the admins on this regard.

As of now, the decision stays.

Kindly be patient while the admins reply aptly to your query if you are not satisfied with the answer above.

ok,im with the management on the decisions as u must have thought it out.
