Hi

This is just a thought, do not know if it can be implemented or not.

There are members (like me), who work in offices and the proxies there do not allow them to view images hosted by any public image hosting website (like imageshack).

Though to counter this problem, we already have internal image hosting functionality in TE, but it has size limits.

Is it possible to do any or all of the following:

1. Increase the total space provided for attachments/images

2. Make it mandatory to use only TE image hosting and no external ones (This would require a lot of data space)

I think point 2 should solve any issues related to not being able to see images. Though I would imagine, it would be difficult.

Are there any alternatives to this?

I have put a poll in to get an idea about what other members think about this.

Image hosting sites are preferred because you can use the links anywhere in the www.

I don't think a TE only image hosting compulsion will prove beneficial due to the bandwidth requirements. A majority of the visitors are guests and this "office proxy" annoyance is affecting less people. Even though I myself am a victim of this "office proxy" thingie, I still vote for the "Not Practical" option.

imgur.com is a hosting site which is allowed in my proxy. maybe we can promote the hosting sites which are accessible as a suggestion to users.
